What a headline fee leaves out
Spread
On thin pairs the bid-ask gap costs more than the commission. A 0.05% fee on a 0.5% spread is a 0.55% trade.
Instant-buy screens
The simple “buy now” interface is a different product with a different price. On some exchanges it costs ten times the market screen.
Withdrawal fees
Flat per-coin charges. Irrelevant on large balances, punishing on small ones — and they vary hugely by network.
Funding
On perpetuals you also pay funding every eight hours. Over a week that usually exceeds the trading fee.
