Native versus bridged DAI
On several chains two versions circulate: one issued directly by the issuer on that chain,
and an older bridged version (often written DAI.e) that was locked on
Ethereum and minted across. The addresses above are the current canonical ones. A bridged
balance will not show up under the native contract — if an old deposit seems to have
vanished, import the bridged address from the block explorer instead.
Common problems
The token imported but shows 0
The contract is right but that address holds none of it on this network. Check the transaction on the explorer link above: it will tell you which chain the funds actually landed on.
MetaMask says the token is already added
It is on the token list for this network already — scroll the Tokens tab, or turn off the “hide tokens without balance” filter in settings.
I see a token I never imported, and it looks valuable
Airdropped scam tokens are common. Do not interact with them and do not visit the site named in the token. Selling or approving them is how the wallet gets drained.
